This travel blog started as a hobby, fueled by my passion for historical, gastronomic, cemetery, and luxury tourism. I’m a journalist with a postgraduate degree in Communication Management in Organizations, and I travel whenever possible, always seeking experiences beyond the obvious itineraries.
I was born in southern Brazil and raised in Brasília, where I discovered that traveling is more than just moving from one place to another. Instead, it is about experiencing stories. Whether through architecture, cultural rituals, or cuisine—from bustling street markets to fine dining—every destination leaves a lasting impression. As a result, with every journey, I collect memories and magnets, both in my mind and on my fridge.

Why Did I Create This Blog?
For years, I shared travel photos and experiences only on social media. However, my husband and friends encouraged me to take it further. After much thought, I decided to turn this idea into reality.
Unlike many travel websites, you won’t find shopping guides or extreme adventure tourism here. Since I was never a backpacker, I have always valued comfort. Furthermore, I carefully plan my trips, choose the best hotels, and enjoy fine dining at least once in every destination. At the same time, I deeply appreciate local folklore, traditional festivals, and cultural heritage.
Exploring Brazil and the World
I have traveled to many countries. Nevertheless, rediscovering Brazil has been one of my most enriching experiences. This became even more evident after my marriage. My husband, a German who spent years in Australia, moved to Brasília in 2016. Together, we explored much of the country, uncovering its diverse cultures, traditions, and landscapes.
Like many foreigners, he arrived with a simplified view of Brazil—football, beaches, carnival, and favelas. Over time, however, he realized how much more the country has to offer. Because of this, this journey led me to reflect on how Brazil is perceived internationally and inspired me to write my postgraduate term paper on Communication Management in Organizations.
This research examines how Brazil has been marketed to international tourists over the decades, shaping its global image. The study includes rare advertising campaign images, historical maps, and a critical analysis of cultural stereotypes.
For instance, I explored issues such as slumming tourism (favela tourism) and the tendency to portray Brazil primarily as an exotic, tropical destination—reducing its culture to samba, football, and the Amazon. In addition, I analyzed the Leyenda Negra, a historical narrative that distorted perceptions of Iberian colonization in Latin America, which continues to influence how Brazil is viewed today.
